Haverford Roofing is a roofing company based in Haverford, PA, with 20+ years of experience on the roofs of Haverford Township and the Main Line. We repair, inspect and replace roofs on stone colonials, brick twins, frame houses and the small commercial buildings between them, and much of our work is on older houses whose slate, copper and built-in gutters need someone who knows how they were put together.

We built the business around a simple idea: tell people the truth about their roof. Most of the calls we get are for a leak or some storm damage, and most of those roofs need a repair, not a new roof. We say so, and we say it before any replacement price comes up.

Our Approach

Every leak call includes a trip into the attic as well as onto the roof, because water seldom drips straight down from where it enters. We trace it to the real opening before pricing anything. On slate, we repair piece by piece with copper nails and slate hooks rather than recommending a tear-off for a roof that still has years in it. When a roof does need replacing, the step, counter and chimney flashing is replaced with it, not reused under new material.

Our estimates are written so you can compare them. Tear-off, decking, underlayment, flashing, ventilation and gutters each appear on their own line, and damaged decking found under an old roof is photographed and shown to you before it is replaced, at a per-sheet price set in the contract. Our contracts follow Pennsylvania’s home improvement law, with the three-business-day cancellation notice included and deposits kept within the legal limit.

We also do the township homework up front. In Haverford Township that means the roof permit addendum, with its two-layer limit and its ban on roofing over slate, tile, shake or asbestos-cement, and a check of the Historic Resource Inventory before any roof work is scheduled. Every other township we work in sets its own re-roof rule, and we look up the right one for your house before we price the job.

The details that are easy to skip get planned in. Twin and attached-home roofs are laid out with the neighbor’s roof and the shared wall in mind, roofs under solar panels have the panel removal and reinstall on the schedule from the start, and gutters are sized and pitched with the roof. When a storm hits, we photograph and write up the damage for your own claim and will meet the adjuster on site when you ask, without negotiating the claim for you. At the end of every work day the driveway, yard and gutters are cleaned, with a magnet sweep for nails.
